Dear Diary
I really have fallen in with an unsavory lot. Yesterday
I was drinking tea with my fellows in this so-called
"adventurers' guild when a man came in talking of an
enchanted tomb. Intrigued by what secrets might be held
within I volunteered with the spelunking team, though
they were vicious and shifty dwarves.
After some time spent preparing for the journey and
speaking with Father Thomas about the situation, something
about bandits or something? I mostly wanted to see this
enchanted tomb, the tomb of the great hero Elward!
Our journey was uneventful and we arrived at the tomb
in all its magnificence! The fresco over the doorway
depicted the desperate struggle Elward had in life. I
could just smell the enchantments which assuredly were
woven over the stonework.
As we descended, the rough hewn stone was rough under my
booted feet, clearly this wasn't a tomb meant for the
living. Adjacent to the enchanted entryway was a charmed
chapel. Clearly this Elward was dedicated to Pelor or
some other god in life if he instructed them to put a
chapel in his tomb.
In a hallway, one of the scary dwarves proved her worth
by finding a hexed keyhole. Without a key, we had to press
on. After exploring a magic well, we found the key in
another room and that enthralling key matched the wily
wall.
Finally! We had found the Enchanted Tomb! Not much was
in it, but the dwarves were excited to find the immense
stash of gold. I was unsettled by this greed, but I
accepted my share not out of greed, but because unlike
them, I would spend MY share with respect.
Anyway, I must return to scribing new spells. Someday
I will be strong enough in the Ishlidar'kilarhthala to
return to my home and duel The Evil Vizier.
