On this particular morning, Bear appears to have finally returned to Sweetgrove, though he looks extremely tired, as if he hasn't slept for some days. He is slumped over an open book that seems to discuss at length legends about elemental creatures from other planes, apparently having fallen asleep shortly after arriving at the library.
Still a little dusty from his travels, his hand is splayed open-fingered on a page about fire elementals.

Sethel comes over and gingerly removes Bear's hand from the page, being careful not to damage the book. He takes the book from the table and walks away from Bear, seeming content to let him sleep. Sethel then places the book back on the shelf it came from before returning to his desk.

Dantalis walks into the library and hands a note to Sethel. As he does, he takes a look at the man passed out on one of the tables and thinks that's why you shouldn't get drunk before reading it'll always put you to sleep.
The note says: "Do you happen to have any books on dwarven history in the area?"

Sethel reads the note and then rubs the bridge of his nose, "Yes. Yes, I do. They're next to the books on elves in the Demi-human Studies section." He gestures with the hand not holding the note, "Over there."

Dantalis nods and bows a little. Then, he moves over to that section and searches it for any dwarven historical references to a colony in this area.

Avarice enters the library and approaches Sethel
Leaning in so as not to broadcast this conversation, Avarice greets the Librarian, and then begins to speak to him. "Maester Scholar, I need to identify a piece of artwork that I've acquired while out on a job last week. I believe it is a set of 3 pieces, all crafted out of Jade to resemble various beasts. They are not overly large, but I suspect they may have worth to the right individual. In your years, have you read anything that might give me more of an idea as to what they are? Does a set of jade beast statues stir any recollection within you? If not, who would you think may have more of an idea as to the history of these pieces? I would be very thankful for any information you may be able to provide."
Avarice waits expectantly, hoping that the librarians extensive reading may assist him in his cause.

Dantalis finds no books on dwarven colonies in this area during his search. The closest thing he can find is a few references to dwarven artisans being employed by the old Thamaurtan Empire for many aqueducts and cisterns.
Sethel responds to Avarice, "Jade animals? I would imagine they're involved in religious rituals for one of the various nature religions. Can you give me anymore information than that?"

Avarice looks around again, searching for anyone who may be eavesdropping on his conversation. After ensuring that noone is paying him undue attention, he elaborates.
"As I said, I believe them to be a set owing to the similarities in workmanship and style. These statues are fashioned in the likeness of beasts... the Wolf, Tiger and Bear. I found them in the possession of a group of kobolds to the south of the city. Past that, I have no further information."

Sethel hums thoughtfully, keeping a respectful low-whisper, "Yes, savage beasts, as I presumed. Beasts that hunt and kill for their food are particularly interesting to the Cult of Malar. You would probably be best served dumping them in a forest clearing and allowing Malar's servants to pick up the objects. You would not want priests of The Hunter coming after you, I dare say."

Avarice nods in understanding.
"Thank you for the information, Sethel. I'll take your council into advisement."
Avarice leaves the library, heading for the area Black Ryan is known to be located in.

After hours of wearisome searching, Dantalis finds blueprints for an old crypt that was designed by a Dwarven architect hundreds of years ago. Based on some of the notes that accompany the blueprints, it appears to be about 20 miles east-southeast of Sweetgrove.

He takes his original note and writes out if he would be allowed to get a copy of the maps from the book.

Sethel nods, "Of course you can. Just bring ink and paper and scribe a copy for yourself. I've retired from The Art myself."
